I have always believed that food is fuel. In my years I have seen food for athletes change. I remember doing triathlons in the early 80’s (the start of the sport), nutrition choices were far and few between for endurance athletes.
Through the swimming days for my children, I used the Feed Zone Portables book. (The feed zone is cycling is when athletes eat during an endurance event). My girls used our favorites from this book as snacks during school, pre and post practice snacks and food during meets.
Now food is fuel is introduced to – food can be dangerous…..
Dr Callie Means graduated #1 from her med school class at Stanford. She met all the requirements to become a surgeon then, in a truly brave move, walked away from the medical field….
